Fabric Cleaning and Conditioning

Our programs are designed to eliminate the need to take machine downtime for cleaning, enhance quality and maximize the overall performance of the fabrics.

The overall objective is to maximize fabric life while maintaining more consistent performance throughout its life.

The press section is the heart of the paper machine. Properly cleaning fabrics allows the machine to operate smoothly at high water removal rates and target uhle box vacuums.

Our cleaning programs use specially targeted blends of surfactant and No-VOC materials to get efficient, rapid cleaning while allowing high machine speeds and uninterrupted production.

Wire Cleaning and Treatment

Maintaining proper wire cleanliness is critical to all grades of papermaking. The formation of a uniform web is crucial, as is the even drainage and removal of water from this newly formed web.

We offer continuous wire treatments such as passivation and nano barrier chemistries. These function to minimize issues caused by stock contaminants such as stickies, and allow continuous machine operation at design rates.

Downtime batch cleaners are available for upset conditions and to address removal of passivation layers during downtime events.

Our chemistries are plant-based, safe and effective and provide a huge ROI for the papermaker.

Felt Cleaning and Conditioning

Press felt chemistry can be neutral, acidic or alkaline and may include one or more recycled green solvents and materials to deal with halogens and scaling. These complex solutions are custom formulated from system audits, spent felt analysis and dynamic drainage testing to ensure optimal efficacy and cost performance.

Enzyme based products can be applied where soils warrant the application of this technology (size, strength, additives in the furnish make this technology most appropriate).

Plant based materials form the heart of these products and can be applied as continuous, batch on the fly or downtime batch depending upon machine configuration.

Faster machine speeds, better sheet quality, lower sheet solids and longer fabric life can be expected.

Dryer Fabric Cleaning:

The cleaning of dryer fabrics is critical for efficient operation of the paper machine. Deposits on the dryer fabrics rob the machine of efficient and even sheet drying and can create spots, holes, and other sheet defects.

Transfer of stock contaminants with the sheet, and the first significant increase in sheet temperature and evaporation, can leave tenacious deposits behind.
As with other areas of the machine, safety is critical – using materials with captive alkalinity in case of fabric drying and the applications of chemistries with high flash points is critical.

Our plant-based materials shine in this application – with no free alkalinity in the applications and the use of eco solvents to quickly remove these deposits.

This is an area where we often pair our HelioJet technology and chemistry – to allow rapid, thorough cleaning cycles in as low as 20 minutes.
